‘250 billion won man’ Correa WBC absent… However, the risk of injury

Carlos Correa, the best shortstop in the major leagues, will not participate in the WBC.

Correa’s team, the Minnesota Twins, announced on the 7th (Korean time), “Corea’s wife is expecting a second child in March. Accordingly, we have informed the Puerto Rico national team of Correa’s intention to give up participating in the WBC.”

Correa is a Puerto Rican national player who led the national team to runner-up at the 4th WBC in 2017.

Ahead of this tournament, the Puerto Rico national team also had high expectations for Correa’s participation in the WBC, but in the end, he was unable to participate. 토토사이트

However, some local media outlets in the US say that concerns about injury may have played a major role in giving up the competition.

Previously, Correa had agreed to a 13-year, $350 million contract with the San Francisco Giants at the end of last year, but his final contract was canceled due to abnormalities in his right ankle.

Also, after that, the 12-year, $315 million contract with the New York Mets was skipped due to ankle issues.

In the end, Correa’s option is to stay in Minnesota. He signed for 6 years and 200 million dollars (about 250 billion won).

Meanwhile, Correa is recording a batting average of 0.279 and 155 homers in eight seasons in the big leagues.
