28-year-old goalkeeper dies in Turkiye earthquake

 Ahmet Eyif Turkaslan (Turkiye), a soccer player who went missing after the earthquake in Turkey, has passed away.

Malatyaspor, a professional Turkish football team, issued an official statement on the 8th (Korean time) and announced, “Our team’s goalkeeper Ahmet Ewif Turkaslan has died due to earthquake damage.” The team announced the disappearance on the 6th, saying, “I hope that Turkaslan is alive,” but reported the news of his death two days later. Condolence messages from fans form a wave. 바카라

On the 6th, a strong earthquake occurred in Turkey and Syria. At around 4:00 a.m. on the same day, a magnitude 7.8 (USGS) earthquake occurred 17.9 km underground, about 33 km inland from Gaziantep, a city in southern Turkey. Around 1:00 PM, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake followed at another location.

Reuters and others reported that the death toll from the earthquake soared to more than 7,800. “The earthquake killed 5,894 people and injured more than 34,000 people in Turkey,” Vice President Puat Okthai Turkiye said on the 7th.

Another soccer player was also damaged by the earthquake. Christian Arts (311, Ghana), who played for Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth, and Newcastle in the past, and now belongs to Turkiye Hatayspor, was dramatically rescued on the 7th from under the rubble of a building collapsed by an earthquake. He suffered an injury to his right leg, but fortunately the injury was reported to be non-life threatening. He is currently being treated in a hospital.
