Jordi Alba has decided to leave Barcelona.
“Barcelona and Alba have agreed to terminate his contract, which runs until the 2023-24 season, one year early,” the club announced on its official website today. The club would like to thank Alba for his commitment, quality and friendliness to all members of the club and wish him the best of luck for the future.”메이저사이트
Alba is considered one of the best left-backs in Barcelona’s history. Born in 1989, Alba grew up in Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia. From La Masia, Alba went on to play for Cornella and Valencia before making his first-team debut. After developing into a league-level defender at Valencia, Alba returned to his parent club for the 2012-13 season.
Upon arrival, Alba became an integral part of the Barcelona defense. With his quick feet, overlapping runs, and excellent offense, he led Barcelona’s left flank. His partnership with Lionel Messi was unrivaled. With Alba at the helm, Barcelona were in their final prime.
Alba was the centerpiece of Barcelona’s 2014-15 season when they were at the top of Europe, and while the team has aged since then, Alba has always been a world-class performer. Alba has been equally impressive for the Spanish national team. Called up to the national team in 2011, Alba quickly became a regular starter and helped the team win Euro 2012.
But Alba wasn’t immune to the years. Alba started to show signs of aging last season and was pushed out of the starting lineup this season. He lost his starting spot to Alejandro Valdez and was often used as a substitute this season. Ultimately, it seems that Alba decided to leave early for a team that was struggling financially.
Alba had a spectacular career with Barcelona, winning 19 major trophies with the club alone. He has played 459 games for the Catalan club and has amassed 19 goals and 91 assists in his career. Alba is expected to say goodbye to Barcelona fans at the club’s home game against Mallorca on September 29.
