PIT Bae Ji-hwan, no hits in 3 at-bats before MIN…Exhibition batting average 0.083

The silence of Korean major leaguer Bae Ji-hwan (24, Pittsburgh Pirates) is getting longer.

Bae Ji-hwan started as the first batter and second baseman in the 2023 Major League (MLB) exhibition game against the Minnesota Twins held at Lecom Park in Bradenton, Florida, USA on the 6th (Korean time) and recorded no hits and one strikeout in three at-bats. His exhibition batting average dropped from 0.111 to 0.083. He had a hit and even stolen a base in 4 games against the Baltimore Orioles on the 4th, but was silent again.  메이저사이트

Bae Ji-hwan faced off against pitcher Jose De Leon at the end of the first inning. He attacked the changeup at an unfavorable ball count (0-ball-2 strikes), but the ball went in front of the second baseman.

At the end of the 3rd inning, with no runners out, Bae Jae-hwan, who faced the same pitcher, struck out. In the ball count 2-ball-2 strike, he attacked the slider, but the bat failed to hit the ball.

At the end of the 5th inning, when the team was leading 3-1, in a situation where there was no runner, the pitcher Aaron Sanchez faced off. In a full-count game that went up to 8 pitches, he attacked a high four-seam fastball (for left-handed batters), but it flowed in front of the third baseman. Bae Ji-hwan was replaced at the beginning of the 7th inning at the same time as the defense started.

Pittsburgh beat Minnesota 5-2. One Korean big leaguer, Choi Ji-man, was also absent.
